The Worcester Writer’s Collective (WWC) is a group of creatives who meet every Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the JMAC to sustain and share a passion for writing! We welcome all genres and experience levels to write with us and give constructive feedback on one another’s work.

Northampton Literary Society (Litso) is a vibrant group of creatives that meet at Forbes Library each Thursday to write and share work created together, both based on group prompts, a community generated word bank, and entirely independently. Litso also hosts open mics throughout the year at different coffee shops, bars, and other venues in the Northampton and Western Mass area. Zine of community work coming soon!!

Smith College’s “hottest” poetry club, Spitfire welcomes poets of all styles and experience levels to write together. Spitfire hosts at least 1-2 open mics each semester, invites poets to read and hold workshops, and takes trips to various performances and venues.

Highlights:

  • Annual “Spook-en Word” Halloween Open Mic & Valentine’s Fundraiser

Don’t Blink Media Vice President — Fall 2023-Spring 2024

Smith College’s one & only film production org! Connecting students with film department resources, Don’t Blink Media empowers and supports student filmmakers and produces at least one short film each semester. DBM also hosts skill workshops based on member needs, such as on lighting, screenwriting, and other useful skills. Every spring semester, DBM holds a student film festival for all independent work created over the course of the academic year produced by club members and any other independent studies interested in screening.

Emulate is an interdisciplinary writing & art magazine based out of Smith College. Each Fall and Spring semester, Emulate publishes themed issues online and in print. As assistant head of poetry, I helped guide the editorial vision for the poetry department, leading groups as we sorted through submissions and copyedited submissions for release. Submissions are open to anyone connected to the Connecicut River Valley, including that Smith students, professors, friends in the 5 Colleges, alums, and/or anyone living in the area.

“Dreamscapes 2 Gorge Yourself On” was a weekly late-night radio show run by DJ Dreamweaver & DJ Dreameater. An hourly show in the fall and spring, and running two-hours over January, each show was based around a dream theme (ie. fever dream, sweet dream, nightmare) or motif (ie. flying/falling, chase/escape).
